# Competitor Analysis Tool — AI Teardown of Rivals | Probedex

I built [Probedex](https://probedex.ai/) because I kept running into the same problem when looking at SaaS ideas: I could find competitors, but it was hard to understand how they were actually getting traction.

The tool pulls together public signals around SaaS companies: traffic estimates, SEO keywords, backlinks, paid search signals, YouTube mentions, Reddit/Product Hunt activity, estimated MRR, and basic positioning. It then turns those into a teardown report with a short action plan.

It is not meant to be a perfect source of truth. A lot of the data is estimated, and part of the work has been deciding how to show uncertainty instead of pretending the numbers are exact.

The main use case is: before building or marketing a SaaS product, look at a few competitors and understand which channels seem to be working for them.

There is a free version, and the first teardown can be tested before committing to a subscription.

I would especially like feedback on:
- whether the report is actually useful for deciding what to build or market next
- which data points feel trustworthy or untrustworthy
- whether the action plan is too generic
- what other competitor signals would be worth adding
