This checklist is designed for short faceless videos built with a mixture of generated and manually created assets. It works best when one person owns the release decision, even if several people or tools contributed to the draft.

1. Restate the promise

Write the video's promise in one sentence without looking at the title. Then compare that sentence with the opening and ending.

The first few seconds should establish the same question that the conclusion answers. If the hook promises a complete tutorial but the reel provides only one tip, narrow the hook. If the ending introduces a new subject, move that idea into another draft.

Ask three questions:

  • Is the expected viewer outcome specific?

3. Read the narration aloud

Listen to the script at the intended pace. Shorten sentences that require an unnatural breath. Replace unclear pronouns, define unfamiliar terms, and remove clauses that are necessary in an essay but cumbersome in speech.

Check the movement between thoughts. Each sentence should answer, qualify, or advance what came before it. A list of accurate statements can still feel disjointed when the listener must infer the relationship.

Mark intentional pauses. Important comparisons and conclusions need a moment to register. Synthetic narration may pronounce every word correctly while rushing the overall argument, so adjust sentence length and pause controls rather than simply lowering the global speed.

4. Give every visual a function

If the job cannot be named, the scene may be decorative. Decoration can support tone, but a sequence of loosely related stock clips makes an instructional reel feel vague. Review generated images for distorted anatomy, impossible reflections, unreadable labels, accidental logos, repeated objects, and inconsistent lighting. Clearly distinguish illustration from documentary evidence when realism could mislead viewers.

5. Check continuity between scenes

Faceless reels often combine assets from different sources. Add a continuity pass for recurring characters, environments, objects, color, and framing.

A person should not change clothing or facial structure unless the story requires it. A product should not switch shape between shots. In a process demonstration, highlights should point to the same control and the interface should not jump between incompatible versions.

Transitions should express a relationship. A direct cut can show cause and effect, a matched frame can support comparison, and a brief neutral moment can introduce a new section. Avoid applying motion merely to keep every pixel active.

6. Reconcile captions and screen text

Generate captions only after narration is final, then review them manually. Names, brands, numbers, and technical terms are common transcription errors. Break lines at natural phrase boundaries and avoid leaving a single short word on its own line.

7. Listen on more than one device

8. Inspect automation handoffs

10. Review the export, not just the timeline

Watch the exported file from start to finish without skipping. Verify aspect ratio, resolution, frame rate, duration, and synchronization. Look for blank frames, missing assets, clipped captions, compression artifacts, and unexpected color changes.

Check the thumbnail at a small size. It should honestly represent the subject rather than make a broader promise than the reel delivers. Review title, description, and links as part of the same release package.

When creating versions for several platforms, confirm that late corrections reached every export. Safe zones, duration limits, and caption placement may differ, but the factual content should remain consistent.

11. Classify issues before deciding

Use three levels:

  1. Blocking: inaccurate claims, broken audio, unreadable captions, misleading visuals, missing scenes, or an export failure.
  2. Important: unclear pacing, weak examples, inconsistent terminology, or a visual that does not support its narration.
  3. Optional: stylistic preferences that do not affect understanding, truth, or accessibility.

Fix blocking issues before release. Important issues usually deserve correction unless there is a documented reason not to. Optional polish should not keep a useful, accurate video in endless review.

12. Record what the review discovered

Keep a short log containing the issue, correction, and stage where it was found. Patterns turn quality control into process improvement.

Repeated caption errors suggest a terminology list. Repeated character changes suggest a stronger identity brief. Repeated last-minute fact corrections suggest that verification should happen before narration. Repeated cropping problems suggest saved export presets and safe-zone overlays.

The checklist should become shorter as the workflow improves, not because standards are removed, but because upstream steps prevent the same errors from returning.
