1. Say what you want first — "Create a fictional character for my fantasy novel."

2. Give the basics — genre, setting, role in the story (hero, villain, side character).

3. List what to include — tell it exactly which parts you want, for example:

  • Name and age
  • Appearance
  • Personality (strengths AND flaws)
  • Backstory
  • Goal or motivation

4. Add constraints — things to avoid or requirements: "no clichés," "must have a moral weakness," "keep it under 300 words."

5. Set the format — bullet points, a table, or a short bio paragraph.

Example of the whole thing put together:

"Create a villain for my dark fantasy story set in a frozen kingdom. Include: name, age, appearance, personality with at least two flaws, backstory, and their main goal. Avoid the 'evil for no reason' cliché give them an understandable motivation. Write it as a short profile with headings."

Two extra tips: be specific (vague prompt = generic character), and if the first result isn't right, don't start over just reply with corrections like "make him less dramatic" or "change the backstory to something tragic."
